A New Match Made On AsiaLoveMatch

James and Ivy Find Each Other On ALMI have been looking at various international dating sites for about 2 years now and have met and chatted with some women online throughout those two years. During this time I have I never met one woman who I thought would be the right woman for me, to share my life with. In November I was using the site Chinalovematch.net, I actually went to China and met a woman, she was not at all what I expected, she was using pictures that were over two years old and did not look the same, we had nothing to talk about, had no chemistry and I did not pursue the relationship. After this experience I decided to just let my membership expire.

I was going to forget about trying to find my match and just go on with life and what ever might happen. In January I received an email from Chinalovematch.net informing me that they were starting a new site called asialovematch.net, which would focus more on non-China locations and a free 2 week VIP membership because of my membership level with Chinalovematch.

I decided to take one more attempt at finding my future wife. On January 17th I received a chat message from a woman saying hello and asking if it was ok to talk. I looked at their profile and did not see any pictures and noticed the age being 24. To be polite I told her she was not disturbing me and that because there were no pictures I thanked her for contacting me but was not interested. She told me she had just created her account and that the pictures were not approved yet. I said thank you and went about my evening. The next day the woman who I now know as Ivy contacted me again. Again I chose to be polite and chatted for a few minutes.

Each night there after Ivy would contact me and we began to talk. I asked her if she had yahoo messenger and that if so I would prefer to chat there. I gave her my Yahoo ID and the next day she contacted me. The first thing Ivy wanted to do was to video chat. I thought this was very nice as most of the women I had chatted with in the past did not want to video chat. When I asked her if she was chatting with any other men she told me no, that I was the only one and that I had been the first person she contacted on the site. She told me her Aunt had helped her set up the site and found my profile. She offered to give me her Yahoo ID and password so I could make sure that I was the only person in her contact list.

Ivy was always very open and honest with me and contacted me at least once a day if not twice. We would chat every evening or morning and Ivy would make sure to be online to say good night to me or good morning. Ivy even started a Facebook page because she knew I had one. She has always been very respectful and caring. I soon grew to care about her and decided that I would want to meet her at some point in time. My job did not really allow time for me to take a trip to the Philippines and Ivy was actually planning on traveling to Japan for 6 months to nanny for her cousins baby.

Ivy had been helping her aunt care for the baby in Butuan and was in the process of acquiring a visa to travel to Japan. We thought we might be able to meet sometime after September when she returned from Japan. During this time I was interviewing for a job back home and in February I received a job offer and was given enough time between jobs to travel. I surprised Ivy and asked if I could come visit her in three weeks on February 23rd. She checked with her cousin and Aunt and they told her to let me come so we could meet and that her travel to Japan could wait. I bought my ticket and sent Ivy my flight plans.

I have to admit I was both excited to meet her in person and also nervous. I tend to have high expectations according to my friends and family and I was concerned that I would find something wrong or something would happen and we would not be a fit. I left for my flight on March 14th from San Francisco Airport and arrived in Manila on March 16th. During my layover Ivy and I chatted a bit, I told her what I was wearing (blue jeans and a white golf shirt) so she would be able to see me easily and then I left Manila and flew to Butuan. When I flew into Butuan I was surprised at the size of the airport. I saw people lining the fences and I looked for Ivy but did not find her. I entered the Butuan terminal and saw more people at another fence. I began looking for Ivy but she saw me first and began waving. I saw her waving and waved back. I took a picture of her from the terminal as I wanted to capture the first time I ever saw her in person. I picked up my bags and went out to meet her. We exchanged a brief embrace, I was introduced to her Aunt, one of her cousins by the name of Herald and the baby Koji. We got into a cab and proceeded into town. We went to the Almont Inland Resort and I booked a room for Ivy and myself.

We stayed at the hotel together and we talked about each other and what we thought about each other based on our chats and video calls. We both agreed that we were the same as we expected. We talked about the possibility of marriage someday and what that would mean. We talked about our upcoming visit to see her family and what I should expect. We went to the Mall, talked, ate at Jolibee, swam at the pool when her aunt came to visit. I took Ivy shopping because I want to do something nice for her. I bought her two dresses and a pair of shoes. She looked great in the dresses.

I wanted Ivy to send me pictures after I returned to the US and I knew she did not own a camera. I purchased Ivy a small digital camera so she could take pictures and email to me. I am very happy I did this.

After three days in Butuan we rented a driver and drove out to Aras Asan to meet her parents and family. I was very impressed with Ivy’s composure, caring and thoughtfulness but I really saw the true Ivy when we went to her Parents village. Her personality, sense of humor and the way she honored her parents and grandparents was something really special. I knew then that we could fall in love and marry. It was great to have the camera for her. Between her, her cousins and her sisters they took over 400 pictures in 3 days. Now Ivy has pictures of her Grand Parents, her parents, family, home. She will have her memories and also the pictures now to remember. I was sad when I found out that Ivy has no baby pictures, no childhood pictures. I am very glad to provide her the means to have these memories to keep forever.

I truly enjoyed watching Ivy spend time with her family. Watching her talk about me, about us. I could not understand what was being said but I did not need to. I only needed to be with her, experiencing her joy, her happiness with her. Some of her neighbors and friends of the family who spoke some English came over to her parents to make sure I had people to talk to and feel comfortable. Everyone was very nice and her family was great. I met her grand parents on her mothers side, her step father, her mother, many aunts, uncles and cousins. While we were sitting at the table with her family around people were asking me questions about Ivy, what I thought of her, if I liked her, what my plans were with her. Everyone was laughing and we were having a good time. Then someone asked me if I was going to marry Ivy. I did not hesitate and replied that I could not answer that question as I had not yet asked permission from her parents. Well, as very many people pointed out to me her parents were standing right there. I turned to her parents and I asked, “I would be very honored if you would give me permission to marry your daughter Ivy.” This was translated for them to which they replied that I could. Everyone in the room laughed and was very happy and we sent out someone to get some snacks and drinks form the market for everyone. "

We married on Oct 23rd. We are currently in the process of filing for Ivy's Permanent residence card. Our future plans are to send Ivy to school so she can get her teaching credentials, have a couple of children and build a retirement and vacation home in the Philippines.

I was almost at the end of the line and then Ivy found me. We are truly thankful and blessed that asialovematch was there for us. This never would have happened without your site.

Ivy and James sharing love in the Philippines.

呵呵,我发现成功的每一对都有夫妻相,虽然来自不同的国家,如此甜蜜的一家人。 但愿我们都有运气遇到一个心仪的人,就这样幸福相伴。 祝福新人,永远幸福。
